This is the 21st century; the advanced technology has provided man with great comforts. Now people don't strain themselves for basic things by walking or cycling (why should one cycle when they have cars?). They spend most of their time in their offices doing least physical activity, as a result there rich fat diet makes it's presence felt in the form of some added kilos and their ever extending belly. Then they join a gym and spend heavy bucks and sweat it out over there. Instead it would be advisable to go for a healthy balanced diet from the beginning and follow a healthy routine. Well much hype is being made about a healthy diet though. There are claims by various health centers about reducing weights of its clients by considerable amounts, by keeping them on healthy diets.

A healthy diet no doubt is very useful for reducing weights but it should be taken care of that a healthy diet is the one which covers all vital nourishments required by the body. A healthy diet is actually a healthy balanced diet. When one talks about healthy diets one should make sure that it is not the one that subjects oneself to immediate rigorous routine of exercise and does not cause starvation at all. But a healthy diet is one that includes all the significant vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, proteins and fats (yes fats are also required by the body) in regulated amount i.e. according to the requirement by the body.

All protein or an all carbohydrate diets cannot be healthy diets, it should be a healthy balanced diet. Healthy balanced diet would never cause one to starve; instead the emphasis in healthy diets is to take small meals at small intervals of time. There should be good amount of consumption of vegetable and fruit juices as they are appetizing and are rich in nutrient content, also a healthy balanced diet requires drinking lot of water as this helps in removing toxic waste from the body. Vitamins, minerals are as essential as carbohydrates, proteins. The catch lies in striking the right balance, and for this healthy diets or healthy balanced diet comes into play.
